The inputs to the PGDBA/PGDM Programmes have been drawn within the framework of guidelines as indicated in the 10 MODULES given below to help the would-be Manager in gaining should knowledge, acquiring skills and developing business attitudes to put acquired knowledge into practice.Module 1
(Managers as Decision-Makers)
In this module the focus will be on developing generic problem solving skills and acquiring the right attitudes towards working in a group which will help decision making within an organization. The topics in this Module will be concerned with decision analysis, group dynamics and learning, cost analysis, marketing concept and communication practice.Module 2
(Analytical Tools)
In this module the students will learn and apply the analytical tools for decision making in the main functional areas of business such as Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Development, Production and Operations Management, Business Information System and Computer Applications. The topics in this module will be introduced as Business Mathematics and Statistics, Forecasting, Financial Analysis, Marketing Research, Operations Research, Business Software, Computer Packages and applications.Module 3
(Management of Resources)
This module focuses on securing, developing and managing the resources needed by Business Organizations. The topics covered will be Personnel Policies, Marketing-mix, Sales Management, Operations Management, Financial Management and Planning, valuation and Management of Business Information.Module 4
(Industry and Business Environment Analysis)
This module is the first of the two to cover Strategic and Analysis Management. It introduces rigorous approaches for analyzing an industry and its competitors in order to gain the inputs to strategy formulation and in identifying the industry patterns and assessing the long-term impact of factors like technology, economic policy, political environment and socio-demographic changes. The topics covered will be Managerial Economics, Competitive Strategies and Analysis, Financial Markets, Global Economics and Business Environment.Module 5
(Strategic Management)
This module will cover studies concerned with strategic management in assessing a Company’s position relative to industry patterns. The topics covered in this module will be : Company Analysis, Financial Policy, Strategic Marketing, Manufacturing Strategy, Strategic Management of Technology and Organisation Structure & Design.Module 6
(Management of Interfaces)
This module will focus on developing the interactive capabilities to manage the interfaces between partners and shareholders within and outside the business organization. The topics covered will be : Labour Laws and Relations, Management of Network Organization, Negotiation Skills and Business Responsibility to the Society in an Indian and International Sociao-environment.Module 7 & 8
(Current Management Challenges)
These two modules are concerned with Studies addressed at specific issue, which challenge current and future management thinking and practice and may include topics concerned with Marketing of Services Promoting Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Issues will be selected each year on the basis of their relevance and Innovativeness.Module 9
(Managers as Pathfinders)
This module is very important. It aims to develop leadership qualities in terms of gravity, imagination and vision. Under this module the students will be directed to discuss with recognized business leaders and to understand the qualities of pathfinders. The topics will consist of Strategy and Vision, Corporate Culture and Management Ethics etc.Module 10
(Practical Training)
All the students have to undergo SUMMER TRAINING for about 8 to 10 weeks and write a Project Report on the basis of their training to be presented before a panel of experts in an Open seminar for evaluation. The students will also be required to write a Term-Paper for which they will have to interact with the industries, business organizations.Learning Module
The PGDBA/PGDM Programme’s learning & training module help the students after two year stay with us to learn and practice that knowledge, skills & attitudes towards what employers are looking forward in their prospective candidates for selection to employ them in their organizations. For this the learning methods at GSBA prepare students who can
