Behavioural Policies

Policy On Disruptive Behaviour
The Executive Director is free to take any disciplinary action against any student, faculty member, administrator or employee, acting individually or in concert with others who clearly obstructs or disrupts any teaching, research, administrative, disciplinary or public service activity, or any other activity of the Institute. Director's action can even lead to student's expulsion from the programme and dismissal or termination of employment without further notice or explanation by the Executive Director.

The Institute believes that all segments of the academic community are under a strong obligation and have a mutual responsibility to protect the campus community from disorderly or disruptive or obstructive actions which interfere with academic pursuit of teaching, learning and other campus activities.


Policy On Class Attendance
The resources of the Institute are provided for the intellectual growth and overall personality development of the students. The students are required to attend all classes as per scheduled time-table and participate in all the activities being organized or managed by the Institute from time- to- time. The students should attend all guest faculty lectures along with the regular class lectures and visit Industries as and when notified. The students over all attendance should be maintained at minimum 85% level.

All professors will make a clear statement to all their classes regarding their policies in handling absence at the beginning of each quarter. Professors will also be responsible for counseling their students regarding the academic consequences of absence from their classes or laboratories. Students are obligated to adhere to the requirements of each course and of each course professor.

Students must not be absent from announced quizzes, laboratory periods or final examinations unless the reasons for the absence are acceptable to the Executive Director. Students should also understand that they are responsible for the academic consequences of their absence.


Professional Conduct
The students are expected to behave professionally inside and outside of GSBA. They must be available for active participation in all Program Activities (individual and team/group work, and class session) on all the working days of a week. Punctual and regular attendance at minimum 85% level is required at all semesters and is a condition for the award of diploma. Cases of irregularities, indiscipline and defaulting at any stage will be considered by the Executive Director or by a committee appointed by the Executive Director and the decision taken by the Executive Director shall be final and binding to all concerned.


Awards & Scholarships
Merit Scholarship award to students is available in each programme of the Institute. The Dean Office will recommend name of the meritorious student from each programme for award of scholarship of value Rs. 500/- per month for 10 months in a year at the end of a year who has :
  1. Obtained at least A-grade in aggregate in each internal and external evaluation exams conducted by the faculty in the first attempt and have maintained 85% attendance consistently.
  2. Not faced any disciplinary action against him/her, and
  3. Ranked at the top of all successful students on the basis of total grade points secured in semester 1 and 2 together at the end of the 1st year Similarly a student of the Second year will be considered for the award of scholarship if he/she satisfies conditions (i),(ii) and (iii) for the Second Year instead of 1st year and for he 3rd and 4th semester instead of 1st and 2nd semesters..
Note: The same student may not get scholarship in the 2nd Year or 3rd year if he/she does not satisfy the required conditions of award in the prescribed year as listed above.

Award of Scholarship to Poor Students
Scholarships award to poor students whose family income will be less than 96000/- p.a. is available in each programme of the Institute. The Dean Office will recommend names of the meritorious poor students from each programme for award of scholarship of value Rs. 500/p- per month for 10 months in a year after each semester examination results who satisfy the following conditions:
  1. Obtained at least B + grade in aggregate in each internal and external exams conducted by the faculty in the first attempt and have maintained 85% attendance consistently.
  2. not faced any disciplinary action against him/her during the semester. (iii) Father's income from all suorces is less than Rs. 96,000/- p.a.
Note: The same student may not get scholarship in the successive 2nd Semester or 3'd Semester, if he/she does not maintain the required conditions of award in the prescribed Semester wise.
